Transits

Week of 14 to 20 September 2026: Transits

Chiron slips back into Aries for the final stretch of an eight-year visit. The week also brings Venus under pressure from Pluto and Mercury running straight into Saturn.

The shape of the week

The week opens gently. Mercury trines Uranus and the Sun sextiles Mars on the 14th, which is the kind of day where thinking moves faster than usual and effort actually gets somewhere. Enjoy that, because it does not last.

By the 15th Venus in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius. Anything in a relationship that has been kept polite instead of honest tends to surface with some force. Venus-Pluto contacts are not subtle. They push toward the raw version of what you want, which is useful if you can sit with the discomfort and destructive if you act on the first wave.

On the 17th or the 18th, depending on your time zone, the main event of the week arrives quietly. Chiron, the small body discovered in 1977 that orbits between Saturn and Uranus, retrogrades back into Aries from Taurus. It entered Aries in 2018. It left briefly for Taurus earlier this year. This is its return for one final pass before leaving Aries for good in April 2027. Eight years of working on the same wound. This is the closing chapter.

And on the 18th Mercury in Libra opposes Saturn retrograde in Aries, which tends to feel like every conversation hits a wall. Thinking slows. Plans get questioned. The thing you were sure of yesterday needs defending today.

Why the Chiron return matters

Chiron in astrology tends to mark the place where something was wounded early and where the deepest teaching eventually comes from. In Aries since 2018, that wound has concerned identity itself. The right to take up space. The fear that beginning something, asserting yourself, simply being visibly who you are might cost you something essential.

Eight years is a long time to sit with that question. Most people who have planets or angles in Aries have felt it working. This retrograde return to the late degrees of Aries is the last pass, the closing revision before Chiron moves into Taurus for good next April and the subject changes to worth and resources.

A final pass rarely opens a new wound. It is more like the last look at an old one, the moment where you see what you learned from it and what you are still carrying. If something around identity and self-assertion has shifted for you since 2018, this stretch from now until April tends to be where you feel the shift settle.

The aspects underneath

Venus squaring Pluto on the 15th is the week's most intense interpersonal moment. Scorpio Venus already wants the unvarnished version of desire. Pluto in Aquarius pushes that into the collective space, the group, the friendship, the social arrangement. Where the two collide the question tends to be whether a relationship can hold the truth of what both people actually want once the diplomatic version drops.

Mercury opposing Saturn on the 18th is more practical and equally frustrating. Mercury in Libra tries to be fair and balanced. Saturn in Aries says no, it needs to be real, even if real is blunt. Expect conversations to run into resistance. Contracts stall. Ideas require more evidence than you thought.

Behind all of this, Neptune and Pluto hold an exact sextile at 3 degrees of Aries and Aquarius, an aspect so slow it belongs to the century more than the week. Mars continues through Cancer, now well past its square to Saturn, so last week's locked-brake feeling around home and family is easing.

Where it falls for your rising sign

I count the houses by whole signs, one sign per house from your Ascendant. It is the only method that stays accurate for everybody in a general article. In your own chart under Placidus, which is the system I use in readings, a transit can land in the neighbouring house.

Aries rising. Chiron returns to your house 1. If this wound has been yours since 2018, questions about who you are and whether you have the right to lead with that, this is the closing stretch. Mercury opposes Saturn across your house 1 and house 7, which tends to put a conversation with a partner or an adversary under real pressure. Venus squaring Pluto hits your house 8 and house 11, where shared resources meet group loyalties.

Taurus rising. Chiron enters your house 12, the quiet one, where wounds go to be processed out of sight. Whatever this final Aries pass surfaces for you is likely to happen privately. Venus in your house 7 squaring Pluto in your house 10 puts relationships and career reputation in tension. Mercury opposing Saturn crosses your house 6 and house 12. Health or work routines meet something hard to name.

Gemini rising. Chiron returns to your house 11. The wound that surfaces here tends to involve belonging, the groups you thought were yours and the ones where you never quite fit. Mercury, your ruler, trines Uranus in your house 1 on the 14th, which is a genuinely good day for seeing yourself clearly. The opposition to Saturn later in the week crosses your house 5 and house 11, creative self-expression meeting the demands of the group.

Cancer rising. Chiron in your house 10 puts the wound squarely on career and public role. If what you do for a living has felt like a sore point these last years, the final pass tends to bring the clearest picture of what that was about. Mars in your house 1 has now moved past its square to Saturn, so that physical frustration should be easing. Venus squaring Pluto touches your house 5 and house 8, pleasure against depth.

Leo rising. Chiron returns to your house 9, belief and meaning. The wound here often involves the frameworks that stopped working, the worldview that cracked and had to be rebuilt. Jupiter in your house 1 continues to support from underneath. Mercury opposing Saturn crosses your house 3 and house 9. A conversation or a piece of writing may run into a belief that refuses to bend.

Virgo rising. Chiron enters your house 8, where the wound lands on shared resources and trust, what you owe and what you are owed. Venus squaring Pluto hits your house 3 and house 6, communication tangled with daily work. Mercury opposing Saturn crosses your house 2 and house 8, finances and entanglements under scrutiny. The Sun in your house 1 all week gives you more visibility than usual, for better or worse.

Libra rising. Chiron returns to your house 7, partnership. If relationships have been the site of your deepest learning since 2018, this is the last chapter of that. Mercury in your house 1 opposing Saturn in your house 7 makes it specific, a conversation with a partner that cannot stay polite. Venus squaring Pluto touches your house 2 and house 5, values against pleasure.

Scorpio rising. Chiron enters your house 6, daily work and health. The wound here tends to surface as the thing about your routine or your body that you have been managing around instead of addressing. Venus in your house 1 squaring Pluto in your house 4 is personal and domestic, what you want colliding with what the home demands. Mercury opposing Saturn crosses your house 12 and house 6.

Sagittarius rising. Chiron returns to your house 5, creativity and joy, what you risk when you put yourself forward. The wound often involves play that was shut down or expression that was punished. Mercury opposing Saturn crosses your house 11 and house 5, group expectations pressing on personal expression. Venus squaring Pluto touches your house 12 and house 3.

Capricorn rising. Chiron enters your house 4, home and roots. The wound here tends to be foundational, something in the family story or the sense of home that was never quite solid. This final pass often brings the moment where you see the pattern clearly enough to stop repeating it. Mercury opposing Saturn crosses your house 10 and house 4, career and home pulling against each other. Pluto continues in your house 2.

Aquarius rising. Chiron returns to your house 3, communication and how you think. The wound here involves voice, the things you learned not to say, the opinions you swallowed. Venus squaring Pluto hits your house 10 and house 1, public image against personal desire. Mercury opposing Saturn crosses your house 9 and house 3, belief versus what you actually know from experience.

Pisces rising. Chiron enters your house 2, worth and resources. If your relationship with money, value, or what you deserve has been the sore spot, this final Aries pass tends to bring clarity on what that cost you and what it taught you. Mercury opposing Saturn crosses your house 8 and house 2, other people's resources against your own. Saturn and Neptune in your house 1 continue their long work.
