The shape of the week
The opening is the easy part. On the 28th the Sun trines Uranus, a bright, slightly unpredictable note that favours a fresh angle on an old problem. Mars crosses from Cancer into Leo around the same time, late on the 27th in the Americas and early on the 28th in Europe. Action stops being defensive and protective and starts wanting to be seen. On the 29th Mercury trines the North Node, a good day for a conversation that moves something in the right direction.
Then the pressure builds. From the 2nd of October the week tightens into a knot. Mars in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius, exact on the 3rd, while Mercury in Scorpio squares both of them on the 2nd. Three of the most forceful bodies in the chart locked into hard angles at once. This is a week that starts mild and ends with its fist clenched.
A softer thread runs underneath. Mars also trines Neptune on the 2nd. That takes some of the edge off the aggression and lends it imagination, though it can also blur where the anger is really pointed.
Mars opposite Pluto, the core of the week
This is the aspect everything else orbits. Mars is naked drive and assertion. Pluto is power and control, everything that operates underneath the surface. When they oppose each other the result tends to be a collision over who is in charge, whether that plays out with another person or inside your own will.
The shadow of this transit is the power struggle that turns destructive. The argument stops being about the thing and becomes about winning. The urge is to force an outcome.
